Games Teach Problem Solving
Today’s children face very different obstacles than we did growing up, and as adults they will face different challenges than we can even imagine today… the world is changing faster and faster.
So how can we prepare our children for THEIR future? We at ThinkFun believe that the most important thing we need to do is teach our children to be great thinkers. Indeed, to be competent problem solvers.
We believe that the best way to help children become successful problem solvers is to teach them the language of problem solving.
If a child can explain to you:
- the Steps s/he used to evaluate a problem,
- the Strategy s/he used to solve the problem,
- his/her State of Mind when working through the problem
then we believe s/he has learned the fundamentals of problem solving! We call these the THREE S’s OF PROBLEM SOLVING.

I am writing to tell you how much both my students and I enjoy your games and puzzles. I offer classes to the young students interested in non-traditional school math, math puzzles, logic and critical thinking. We always end our classes with one or another of Think Fun Games, and kids really enjoy it.
Thank you again,
Julia
That is great!!!!! I would love for you to share any successes and struggles you have with our product. I’d love this to be a VERY open blog where we can discuss problem solving and critical thinking in th classroom and read about what other schools are doing. So I’d love your thoughts on how we keep this communicty going!
thanks – Liz
